Grant County Fire District #3 (GCFD3) is thrilled to announce that we have been granted $553,000 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program for the fiscal year 2023. This substantial funding will bolster the District’s capacity to safeguard the well-being of our firefighters and the communities we serve.
The AFG program, overseen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), offers crucial financial aid to fire departments and independent emergency medical service organizations nationwide. The grant’s objective is to enhance the readiness and response capabilities of these essential first responders by financing critical equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other necessary resources.
GCFD3 plans to utilize the allocated funds to procure a new water tender to replace aging apparatus. This enhancement is indispensable in ensuring our district is adequately equipped to meet the escalating demands of fire response within our community. We remain dedicated to advancing our capabilities continually and upholding the highest service standards.
